Some of you may already be privy to this info, but for those who aren’t, I thought I’d share. For the past couple of months, I’ve been making face masks based on my paintings. Until now, I’ve been very resistant to “merchandising” my art work and don’t see myself doing anything beyond this. But this felt like something more important than t-shirts and refrigerator magnets and coffee mugs. During pandemic times, a face mask seems a worthy cause.
So I made a few for myself and my husband and daughter. And then friends saw them and wanted them and encouraged me to sell them, so I got a website up and running, and I’ve been selling my masks for a little while now.
And I’ve been shocked by the enthusiasm, encouragement, support and purchases! My masks, called MOW MOW masks, are now all over AU, in the US, the UK, Ireland, the Caribbean, and Mexico!
It’s been pretty amazing. For those who want to follow the mask journey, you can follow along at @mow.mow.20.20
I post the selfies there that people send me of themselves in their masks. It’s fun to see the way the paintings/masks take on different personalities on the different people who buy them.
Anyway, follow along there if you like. I’m posting some screen shots here of the MOW MOW Instagram pages. You can also visit the MOW MOW website if you’re looking for a mask of your own at www.mowmow.com.co
